Ebert Ranch Camp Ropes Challenge Course

Challenge Yourself on our High and Low Ropes Challenge Course

Youth, adult and family groups are invited to come challenge themselves on the low and high ropes course at Ebert Ranch. The ropes course is designed to help participants grow and stretch themselves, and their group, through fun, challenging activities.

Why a Challenge Course?
Using time tested group interaction techniques, facilitators can help your group learn team building, goal setting, communication skills, and creative problem solving. Through this character building process, participants gain confidence, focus, and an awareness of their own and others’ gifts.

The learning that takes place on a challenge course can be applied to all aspects of life. Through guided discussion, participants apply skills learned in a friendly environment to other, more challenging, areas of their lives.

Low Ropes (elements list)
The low ropes course includes a variety of activities designed to facilitate group building. Elements are on the ground, on wooden platforms and on cables no more than 9 inches off of the ground. Groups complete the elements together, bonding and learning to work as a group. Low ropes activities stress cooperation, not competition. Click to learn about low ropes course challenges.

High Ropes (elements list)
Progressing from low ropes, the high ropes course is an individual and group challenge utilizing the skills participants learned in the low ropes, including goal setting and encouragement. Group participation is essential in helping individuals reach their goals. Cable elements are located up to 27 feet high. Participants wear harnesses and are attached to a belay system to ensure safety. Click to learn about high ropes elements.

It’s Your Choice
Ebert Ranch staff members are certified ropes instructors and follow a philosophy of “Challenge by Choice.” This philosophy enables participants to choose their level of participation on the ropes course. Participants need to feel safe when pushing their limits. The most basic component of feeling safe is having a choice. Encouragement and guidance are always provided.

Options to Specialize Your Retreat
Come for a day or a whole weekend! The ropes course is available in a variety of settings, including one-day, two-day and three-day retreats. Depending on your group’s goals, a retreat can be designed to facilitate the greatest amount of learning.

Special Programs for Christian Groups
“Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.” Hebrews 11:1 Faith learning happens on the Ebert Ranch ropes course. Pushing ourselves in one experience, with the encouragement and help of others, teaches us how to push ourselves in other areas. God provides us with a support group as we face the challenges put before us. And He provides us with faith in Him and in ourselves to do His work in ways we never imagined. It’s truly a Leap of Faith.
