Family & Friends Retreat “Fiesta con Dios!”
For families, singles and couples
September 2-5 – Lutheran Camp Chrysalis

Living a life in Christ calls us to celebrate, calls us to fiesta! Gather at Camp Chrysalis for a cultural experience bringing the community of believers together. Join us for hiking, canoeing, field games, swimming, and making arts and crafts while participating in Bible studies and worships for all ages. Experience Latino culture by participating in piñata making, Spanish language classes, cooking demonstrations, Mariachi guitar strumming and more! The weekend includes an “Adults Night Out” and special events for young adults. Babysitting is provided for children ages three and under. Kid’s club will be provided for children ages 4-10.

LUTHERSTOCK “All faith. All day. One day of Faith & Music”
For Senior High and College Students
September 18 – Lutheran Camp Chrysalis

On September 18th, youth and college students from across Texas will gather on the grounds of Camp Chrysalis to celebrate their faith in a festival atmosphere for the 3rd annual Lutherstock. This event is a day of music that includes exciting camp activities and some of the finest performers around. Confirmed for 2005 are ALIVE Band, The Brown Band and Ryan Davenport! For more information see aliveband.org and thebrownband.com. Gates open at noon and the event runs through 5:30 p.m. The cost includes the festival and a meal! Mother-Daughter Retreat “Grown in Christ”
For mothers and their daughters in grades 5-8
Sept. 30-Oct 2 – Ebert Ranch Camp

Spend time growing together and creating new memories in the Hill Country. Mothers and daughters in grades 5-8 are invited to Ranch for a weekend of fun activities and faith growth. Special Bible studies and worships will focus on how we are grown in Christ. We will explore gardening, God-style. In addition, mothers and daughters will choose from activities including horseback riding, hiking, arts & crafts, the ropes course and more. Come and enjoy the slow rhythm of Ranch life, camp hospitality and home-cooked meals as you make memories and grow together in faith.

Family Advent Festival “O, Tannenbaum!”
For families, singles and couples
November 25-27 or December 9-11 – Lutheran Camp Chrysalis

There is a widely repeated story that in 1510, Martin Luther was the first to light a Christmas tree with candles in a Riga forest, located in Latvia. While coming home one dark winter's night near Christmas, he was struck with the beauty of the starlight shining through the branches of a small fir tree outside his home. To re-create the starlight, he is said to have attached candles to the branches of his indoor Christmas tree. Explore the many connections of the tree to your faith life during the Advent season. This retreat will allow you to take time way with your family or friends and focus on the true meaning of the holiday with lots of old-fashioned fun. Each single, couple or family will have the chance to construct their own gingerbread house to take home, make old time crafts, play games, worship, hike, sing carols and more all in the context of preparing for Christmas. This retreat is perfect for peple committed to spending quality time and celebrating the true reason for the season.

Upper Elementary Advent Retreat “Come to the Stable”
For 4th-6th Graders – Group Registration Only
December 2-3(4) – Lutheran Camp Chrysalis

The season of Advent calls us to prepare for the birth of Jesus each year. At the actual birth, there were many people who had to prepare and were all an important players in the story. Meet the innkeeper. How are you like the shepherds? Look at the bravery of Mary and Joseph. Explore these characters, and more, and discover how you are like them in your preparations for the Christ child. Through small groups, exciting worships, activities and an arts and crafts project the Advent season will come alive. Congregations may choose to stay an additional night that includes more exciting activities, worship and meals.
Camper Cost: $50, Sponsor Cost $25, Optional Saturday Night stay $15 extra One same gender sponsor must attend for each eight campers. Group registration only
